Q: Constant scaly, dry nipples 3 months post BA?

Submitted by Q-A from clee on Mon, 09/05/2016 - 19:16

Hi, I had breast augmentation 3 months ago in Thailand and everything went smoothly. However for the past month and a bit my nipples won't stop peeling and are constantly dry. I've tried baby lotion, oil, paw paw and lanolin but nothing seems to work. Is this normal? And when will it go a way? a month and a half now is quite long

A: Worthwhile to have a proper medical opinion to eliminate assumptions

Thank you for your photo and question. The image provided does not suggest anything unusual. However, I recommend you have a proper medical opinion with a reputable doctor in your home location. A proper history and physical examination is wise considering you had your surgery abroad and more details about your personal medical history and details of the surgical procedure should be reviewed.

Q: Had Full TT 3 Months Ago. Tummy Bulging W/hard Blood, How Do I Liquify This?

A: Might require imaging

To have an abdomen bulging with blood 3 months after abdominoplasty is most unusual. Radiographic imaging by way of ultrasound or CT scan may clarify the underlying problem. Best to see your surgeon for a reassessment.

Q: Left Breast is Shrinking 3 Months Post-Op Breast Augmentation

Submitted by Q-A from clee on Fri, 05/13/2011 - 11:46

Hi there, I had my augmentation on January 18th of this year. I had saline under the muscle surgery. My left breast was slightly lower and slightly larger before my augmentation so my doctor tried to even things out by putting 20 cc more saline in my right breast. 570cc in my left and 590cc in my right to be exact.

As you can see from the pics things looked pretty even on surgery day but as time goes on it seems like my left breast is continually shrinking. PLEASE HELP!!!

A: Implant deflation likely

Implant deflation can result from rupture of the device or valve failure. Rupture presents with a rapid deflation over 1-2 days. In your case it has been more insidious with likely a leak at the valve giving rise to a progressive but slow diminution of size. Most major manufactures have a warranty program in place to assist in the cost of correction. It might be a good time to review the particulars of the warranty. Good job with your photos as it is more information to base an opinion.

Q: 3 Months Post Breast Augmentation: Experiencing Pain

Submitted by Q-A from clee on Fri, 05/13/2011 - 07:03

It's been a week now that i feel localized pain on my left breast (the pain is like a bruise). I feel the pain on the sides of my left nipple toward my left arm. I also feel the pain on the incision site after I wear my none wire bra (like there's a feeling of heaviness), every time I bend over (this time on the side of the left nipple again but extending medially) & when sleeping on my left side. Is this something serious or it's just a sign of drop and fluff? Thank you for the replies docs.

A: Scar maturation with more time will likely improve your symptoms.

If all else is normal and unchanged, then it is highly likely that your symptoms are a result of an immature scar.  The normal progress is for these symptoms to become progressively better with lower frequency and amplitude of discomfort.  Usually all symptoms resolve by 6 months.  If your discomfort deviates beyond these parameters, you should return to see your plastic surgeon.  He will be able to examine your breast to rule out other possible issues as well as provide you with insight on how to manage the discomforts during this period of scar maturation.
