Gallery - Breast Augmentation

BA 1 – Prior pregnancy

Description:  Silicone gel implants can effectively restore the loss of breast volume typically found following pregnancy and breastfeeding. Breast augmentation can usually be performed as an outpatient procedure and requires less than 2 hours of surgical time under general anesthesia. This patient demonstrated a pleasing breast shape 6 days after surgery. Later photos taken at 7 weeks show the “settling” of the breast implants into its long-term position. BA 2 - Mild asymmetry | Nipple hypertrophy

Description:  Mild breast asymmetry in this patient was effectively managed with different volume silicone breast implants (right 350 ml and left 325 ml). Nipples were surgically reduced. This patient’s breast augmentation was enhanced by surgical nipple reduction. Surgical reduction of the elongated nipple is commonly performed in conjunction with breast augmentation. Photographic followup was obtained at 1 and 9 months after surgery. Note that surgical cases of Dr. Chen Lee are presented for illustrative and educational purposes only. BA 3 - No prior pregnancy

Description:  Following 350 ml silicone gel breast augmentation with subglandular placement of implants.  The tight tissues of a young woman who has not been pregnant slow the descent of the implant. This young patient required months for the implants to descend and settle into its normal position. This series of photos was obtained at 3 and 7 weeks after surgery. These images document the changes in breast form and implant positioning in the weeks to months following breast augmentation. BA 4 - Mild sagging

Description:  Mild case of breast sag (ptosis) treated with 325 ml silicone implants placed in the subglandular plane. There is a limited but noticeable lift of the sagging breast. Photographic followup obtained at 2 and 6 weeks after surgery shows mild breast lift achieved with implants. BA 5 – Slim and athletic

Description:  Submuscular placement of a breast implant is also known as subpectoral and dual plane breast augmentation. A silicone gel-filled implant with submuscular placement is an excellent choice for patients with slim athletic body types. The extra tissue provided by submuscular placement assists in concealing the implant edges while the thicker characteristics of cohesive silicone gel yield less “rippling” and surface irregularities than saline-filled breast implants. Photographic followup was obtained at 5 days and 1 month after surgery. Note that surgical cases of Dr. Chen Lee are presented for illustrative and educational purposes only. These illustrative cases should not be construed as a guarantee nor assurance as to the surgical results attainable by prospective patients. | Implant Composition: Silicone Gel (Natrelle® INSPIRA® Gel Matrix SSF) | Volume: 255 ml | Shape: 11.0 cm Round | Surface: Smooth | Incision: Inframammary | Placement: Submuscular

BA 6 - Ethnic Augmentation

Description:  Breast augmentation should aim to enhance natural beauty while respecting the characteristics unique to the patient’s ethnicity. A patient’s ethnicity may significantly influence scarring and placement of access incisions. This Asian patient had her 3.5 cm long access incisions precisely placed in the inframammary creases. Photographic followup obtained at 3 and 7 weeks after surgery shows the incisions to be well camouflaged in the natural creases of breasts. Note that surgical cases of Dr. Chen Lee are presented for illustrative and educational purposes only. These illustrative cases should not be construed as a guarantee nor assurance as to the surgical results attainable by prospective patients. | Implant Composition: Silicone Gel (Natrelle® INSPIRA® Gel Matrix SSF) | Volume: 255 ml | Shape: 11.0 cm Round | Surface: Smooth | Incision: Inframammary | Placement: Subglandular

BA 7 - Severe asymmetry

Description:  Severe breast asymmetry treated in two stages. Right breast augmented with anatomical form stable silicone gel implant (515 ml) while left breast treated with reduction (608 g) and breast lift. Anatomic form stable silicone implants are often referred to as “gummy bear” breast implants. Photographic followup was obtained at 10 weeks following the final stage of surgery. Note that surgical cases of Dr. Chen Lee are presented for illustrative and educational purposes only. These illustrative cases should not be construed as a guarantee nor assurance as to the surgical results attainable by prospective patients. | Implant Composition: Form Stable Silicone Gel Implant on Right (Mentor® Contour Profile Anatomical Breast Implant) | Volume: 515 ml | Shape: Teardrop (Mentor® CPG312 Anatomical, width 13.6 cm, height 11.7cm, 7.4cm projection) | Surface: Textured | Incision: Inframammary | Placement: Subglandular
