Breast Reduction Case #05
Before & After Breast Reduction
PATIENT DETAILS
Inferior pedicle breast reduction can effectively reduce breast volume and is the most common technique of breast reduction in North America. This traditional technique excises both a horizontal and vertical segment of the breast to yield an “anchor” or “Inverted-T scar” on the breast. While the incision is longer than that of a vertical breast reduction, the possibility of breastfeeding in the future is better. Nerves to the nipples are also better preserved with a higher likelihood of conserving nipple sensation following inferior pedicle breast reduction.
- Inferior pedicle breast reduction
- Outpatient procedure
- Pleasing breast shape
- Discoloration and scarring continued to improve for 1-2 years
- An “anchor” or “Inverted-T” scar
- Vascular circulation to the nipple and areola – inferior pedicle
- Moderate volume of breast excised (right 654g, left 605g)
Photographic documentation was obtained before and 2 years after surgery.
