Inverted Nipple Surgery Before After #04

Before & After Inverted Nipple Surgery

PATIENT DETAILS

This 19-year-old woman had deep tethering of both nipples present since childhood. Her inverted nipples have never externalized. Surgical correction was complicated by very short mammary ducts and the relative paucity of the inverted nipple skin. On the left nipple, 2 procedures were necessary to fully correct the nipple inversion. Surgery was performed with the following notables:

First surgical procedure

  • 30-minute procedure
  • outpatient surgery
  • local anesthesia
  • bilateral grade 3 inverted nipples
  • interferes with future ability to breastfeed

Second surgical procedure

  • revision of left nipple (lack of projection)
  • performed 7 months after the first procedure
  • 20-minute procedure
  • outpatient surgery
  • local anesthesia

The photographic follow-up was obtained 8 months following the first surgery.
